WWDC, Apple’s annual developers conference, just kicked off yesterday with a lot of announcement, introducing the next major release of iOS and OSX, iOS 8 & Yosemite respectively and a lot of new technologies for developers. At the same time, Apple also unveiled the winners of the Apple Design Awards 2014 with some really great software. Get my favorites and the full list.

Since the early days of the iPad, we all dreamed to use it has a surface controller for our daily work. The interface being able to morph into anything, it wasn’t so hard to think of shuttle, Steinbeck decks, sliders and shortcuts. iTunes 11.0.1 is here: duplicate finder is back and more…
As announced is our previous post, Apple released today the first update to its media & iOS manager and restores a useful feature that was removed from the previous version.
iTunes 11 will get back the missing duplicate song detection but Cover Flow won’t return.
As part of his favorable review of iTunes 11, Walt Mossberg noted that Apple commented on two particular features it took out of iTunes 11.
Fans of iTunes will notice some omissions and flaws. The long-touted Cover Flow carousel of album covers has been dumped. The company says it found too few users considered it useful. A feature that finds duplicate entries is missing. Apple says it will soon be restored in a minor update of the program.
I’ve never was a big fan of Cover Flow on iTunes or the Finder, so I won’t miss it. What about you? You can comment and add your thinkings in the comments bellow.
